Centuries Old Recipe

Inspired by a centuries old Bohemian recipe, this delicious cake is a unique combination of alternating light, honey-flavoured layers with smooth, creamy caramel topped with fresh walnuts and ground honey crumbs.

In the beginning we spent many months modifying this original recipe in order to adapt to the unique nature of Australian local ingredients.

THE HONEYCAKE recipe we now produce and you enjoy, is the best fusion of a centuries old recipe and the unique natural taste of locally sourced ingredients.

100% Handcrafted From Scratch

This traditional Czech layered delicacy is all handmade from scratch in small batches in our bakery in the heart of Fremantle.

Our traditional approach to baking, lies in using hands and thoughtful old school techniques.

We hand roll every single layer by rolling pin, bake them in small batches and assemble layer by layer with fresh made caramel while the top layer is decorated with ground walnuts and honey crumbs.

We take great pride in bringing you THE HONEYCAKE that is made from real, locally sourced ingredients, free from artificial flavours, colours and preservatives. It’s secret to perfection stems from using the finest raw unprocessed honey from Margaret River Region.


Contains: tree nuts (walnuts), sugar, milk, wheat, butter, honey, eggs and trace amount of liqueur and peanuts may be present. Please make sure you are familiar with all the ingredients and allergens before consuming.

Is THEHONEYCAKE Gluten Free? No, our traditional cake is not gluten free as it contains wheat flour!

Do we have a gluten free version? Yes, it contains mix of rice & maize flour instead of normal wheat flour. All the remaining ingredients are the same.



Storage & Life

How to treat THE HONEYCAKE
You can store THE HONEYCAKE in room temperature or in your fridge, away from strongly scented ingredients. If you want your HONEYCAKE to stay fresh for longer we recommend to keep it in your fridge, preferably stored in a tight closed container to keep out air and other contaminants. Treat THE HONEYCAKE as a normal cake during transport and handling, avoid direct sunlight and/or high temperatures.

How long can you treat yourself with THE HONEYCAKE
THE HONEYCAKE will easily last for a minimum of 10 days. The best flavour will develop with time so try and let the cake sit for a couple of days so you can experience even more divine (softer, smoother, less sweet) taste.
